1. Roomba Q5 Pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the pricier Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've tested. They have motors that are top-of-the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Like other premium iRobots (including the top model) they employ intelligent mapping to design precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles like cords and furniture leg. They also come with carpet boost that increases the robot's power when it sees a lot of dirt on the carpet to get it clean quickly.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests on floors that were bare They are also adept in removing dog hair. However, they do have some flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. For instance, the Q5's navigation doesn't have AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to become entangled in shoes and socks and can't navigate tight spaces very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't have a camera that would let it see the corners of an area.

Its flex arm is great for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete an entire home, and it did so with only 66 percent of its battery left. It also did a great job cleaning a variety of floors and rooms that had various flooring types, such as certain area rugs. Its obstacle detection was great and it stayed clear of fake dog turds and socks, shoes and bundles cables.
